Blog #3 Reflection I can’t begin to imagine how Alice feels. But I’ve
learned so much from her through her rape. She’s grown so much throughout the
whole process. I believe as I’m still growing up, developing, and learning that
I’m to like her and how she’s grew. The lesson I derived from the book though
that was no matter what you go through you can still push yourself, and go
through. Which she did, and everybody makes mistakes but also a lot of people
learn from their mistakes and that’s the good thing about it. That’s the main
point that I got out of the whole book. I enjoyed reading the whole book. It
really pulled me and had my attention the whole the book. My favorite part
though was when she got home, and she saw the teddy bear, that’s when she
actually began to grow. She really opened up so much when she didn’t have to
and I enjoyed that. She also taught me that I don’t have to be afraid to open
up and share my background with others. She survives and she’s and empowerme…

Blog #2 Characters Point of View Alice Sebold is the main character of the book. She
was a college in freshmen who’s been raped. Alice feels like she can’t be
herself anymore, since the rape has happened. Alice was a virgin and her virginity
was token by a stranger so within herself she has to build herself back up. She
doesn’t see herself as valuable anymore, and that’s the sad thing. She’s been
ruined on the inside by physically and mentally. She’s very lucky though
because he ended up just letting her go, but that still doesn’t delete the fact
that she was raped. Alice, in the beginning, was afraid to tell her mother. Alice
didn’t want her mother to be disappointed, it was kind of weird though. Alice
explained on her ride back home about an abandoned house now that had a doll
sitting in the middle of the sidewalk that meant something too her. If you read
the book it’s very significant. Everyone
was looking at her differently when she walked back from the sight where she
was r…

Lucky is
a very interesting book, but you have to be very mature to read it. This is a book mature because it deals with rape and depression. Alice Sebold is the
main character and she is a freshman in college who has been raped. She’s
taught me a lot through telling her story. We always have to watch our
surroundings because when she was walking it was midnight and she was all
alone. That incident tells us a lot about how we have to watch our
surroundings, what we do, and even who we hang around. We have to pay attention
to this because it’s for our benefit.
Not too long ago a video went viral on Facebook about a girl named Kaneeka Jenkins who was with friends and she was raped. The only difference between her and Alice is that Kaneeka died. This story and Alice’s teach me, personally, a lot. Specifically, her experience has taught me that I need to be more careful, and more lenient, and that I should not go anywhere by myself unless I know that I’m for sure …
